Human Resources and Psychology

Kate is registered as a fully qualified Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a fully qualified Personal Trainer.

Throughout her career, Kate has worked as both an experienced Organisational Psychologist and Human Resources Manager. Both of these roles have enabled her to add tremendous value to her clients in the fields of psychological and competency assessment, development and career planning, recruitment, performance coaching and organisational restructuring.

During her experiences as a consultant, Kate has worked with clients such as Commonwealth Bank, Colonial State Bank, Pfizer, Australia Post, BOC Gases, Fantastic Furniture, Lever Rexona, Johnson and Johnson Pacific, Credit Reference Association of Australia. AltanaPharma and Pharmacia.

Whilst working as a Human Resources Manager with British American Tobacco, Kate was responsible for the management of the Graduate Program and all ‘HR account’ activities for the Sales, Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Finance, IT and Legal staff.

Psychological and Competency Assessment Experience

Kate’s has over 14 years experience in using measurement and assessment techniques for identifying ‘Top Performers’. The technique she uses involves the use of psychometric assessments, role-plays, group discussions, behavioural interviews, presentations and simulations.

She is highly experienced in coordinating, designing and training assessors for involvement in Selection Centres. In particular, she recently designed a Selection Centres for Commonwealth Bank. Previously she designed a comprehensive process for BOC Gases through Christie Consulting, managed the graduate assessment process for British American Tobacco and participated as an Assessor for Colonial State Bank’s Selection Centre exercises.

Development and Career Planning

Kate is experienced in coaching Managers in creating and implementing development plans for their employees. In addition, she also works with Senior Executives to determine their future career plan. She has been a career counsellor on the Top Steps Program, an initiative of the Waite Group in association with the Australian Institute of Management and has Executive Coached Senior members of Pfizer and the Commonwealth Bank.

Human Resources Consultative Experience

As a specialist in the Human Resources field, Kate has assisted many Companies with a variety of HR issues such as performance management, recruitment, conducting workshops, business unit design, job profiling and coaching for improved performance.
Kate has presented as a Key Note Speaker at various functions including “Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace” and “Recruiting, Developing and Retaining Generation X and Y”.
